Spiders

So I was sitting at the library. I was working on my assignment submission, trying to get all of my thoughts together, and somehow finish it for good. There were a lot of people in the library at that time, working on their assignments, some watching movies, and few lazy bums sleeping. This picture was a constant for almost two hours, so all of them resided in the background. Then suddenly,

A Brave Wanderer

This spider showed up. Such a tiny thing, it was, so full of bravery and ignorance. It came unannounced, unaware of its surroundings where a single wrong step could lead to its death. A simple harmless paper could smash this tiny one. Yes, it was that small. Yet its smallness and uniqueness made me notice it in the blurred surroundings. I wanted to take care of it, wanted to make sure that it gets out of this jungle of books and deadly papers and ignorant human hands and laptops, safely. But while I was busy taking its picture and thinking about all this things, it ran away. It just vanished!

All other species on this planet are just like this tiny spider, unaware of the dangers we humans have created, and this whole planet is the library, where everyone is so engrossed in their own life and agendas and goals, unaware of the consequences of our own actions. What we assume is harmless to us, might be disastrous to others, even for humans. Majority of human suffering is a consequence of many ignorant or not so ignorant actions by humans.

Another Brave Wanderer!

Still, these other “Not so smart’’ species try to survive with us, as they don’t have any other choice. Yes, many of us are afraid of spiders, you can always just ignore them, you don’t have to kill them! If you can’t make their lives better, don’t try to make it worse.

Notice small things around you, try to look at the world through their eyes (Some of them have 8 eyes!), try to be aware of consequences of your actions, how they affect others.
